What is the best thing that I love about my work? The best thing about loving my work is how working is a great catalyst to know myself through expressing it in my art making.  Staying close to the work keeps me in touch with my process in the studio as well as in my everyday life.

What is my idea of perfect happiness? Spending time with my family and close friends.  Staying connected to myself and having time each day to make art, play music, and do my spiritual practices.

What is my greatest fear? That loss and grief will destroy me.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? Being obsessive and compulsive.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? Sean Scully

What is my greatest extravagance? Buying art materials.

On what occasion would I lie? When a lie could protect someone from feeling unnecessarily hurt.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? The toxicity of working with various materials.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work? I feel the happiest now with my work.

If I could, what would I change about myself? The perfectionist part.

What is my greatest achievement in work? Succesfully making and selling paintings to collectors and designers.

Where would I most like to live? I love it here in my native San Francisco Bay Area. 

What is my most treasured possession? My Upright Bass and Electric Bass.  Living in a loft with side-by-side Art/Music Studios with my jazz musician partner.

What is my most marked characteristic? Being positive and inspiring to others.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city? Point Reyes Station, California & being in my Studio.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? Too many, but most often is the Puerto Rican restaurant, Sol Food located in San Rafael, CA.

What books influenced my life and how?

The Yoga of Discipline, by Gurumayi – I participated in a 12-week course with this book — taught me how to bring yogic discipline to seeing, listening, eating, speaking and thinking to help break through boundaries of attachment. 

Day Book, by Anne Truitt – This book is a journal over a seven year period of her life and struggles as an artist.  Her self-examination and broad range of sensitivities affirms what I face as a mother, daughter, partner and art maker.

The Year of Magical Thinking – Read in 2007. In retrospect, this read prepared me for the loss of my Dad in 2014.

Who are my favorite writers? Joan Didion, Haruki Murakami, Lucy R. Lippard, Pema Chodron

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? One long mantra, Shri Guru Gita. A Sanskrit hymn, composed of 182 verses.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Holly Golightly

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Joseph Campbell, Dalai Llama, Jung, Pema Chodron

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? The Joy Luck Club

What role plays art in my life and work? Art is part of my daily life in whatever I do.  Whether it is painting, cooking, playing music, decorating the home, expressing my fashion sense, appreciating art in all things.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My partner.

Whom would I like to work with in 2017?  My jazz musician partner, Melecio Magdaluyo!

Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2017? Whoever shows up! I believe in synchronicity! 

What project, in 2017, am I looking forward to work on? Collaborating with my partner in arranging and composing music reflective of the Bay Area sound.

Group Exhibit – “Black Box” First show opened July 6, 2017  in Centre d’art Contemporain in Metz, France.  Exhibition will tour from Kunstlerhaus Saar, Saarbrucken, Germany, the La ’S’ Grand Atelier, Vielsalm Belgium, Faux Mouvement, and the Casino Luxemburg, Forum d’art Contemporain.
This exhibit will travel from 2017 – 2019.
