The Heroine’s Journey of Victoria Roos

My name is Victoria Roos. I like to hang from my hair. My favourite colour is glitter. I love sunshine, the ocean and trees. My new favourite hobby is doing handstands on other humans. I live in Hawai’i most of the time. My genetics are made in Germany. I like the Hawaiian saying “Malama Aina”. It means respect/take care of the land and the land will take care of you. I like this thinking. I project it on everything else in life. If you take care, you will be taken care of. I take good care of my hair.
What is the best thing that I love about my work? It’s temporary. It’s only now – not yesterday, not tomorrow. But without them it wouldn’t be at all. It communicates soulfulness. It’s authentic, naked – no filter.
What is my idea of perfect happiness? Death.
What is my greatest fear? Fear is just an indicator of the challenges you still need to face before you die.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work? When I people tell me that my performance touched them on a personal level and they feel inspired to change something in their life because of it.

What role plays art in my life and work? It’s why I haven’t killed myself yet.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? Too many to list here. I don’t have 1 particular person. It’s the summery of little things that people who are close to me have done for me. Even if it was just sticking around or enjoying my work. It’s more like a puzzle in crime. Each piece, each person made it more complete. And it’s not done yet.
