The Heroine’s Journey of Kim Dreyer

What is the best thing that I love about my work? There are so many things I love about my work … though I prefer to call it play 😉  If I had to choose one or two things it would have to be that my creations bring others closer to Source and their own truth and bring healing to the world.  I love that when I’m creating I feel closer to Source than at any other time – it is my personal connection time with the Universe.

What is my idea of perfect happiness? Perfect happiness to me is not necessarily being free of pain or challenges but to be in a space where I can be at peace with my life and feel that I am contributing to the world in a positive way.  It’s also having special people and pets around me who open their hearts and share their souls in trust and unity.

What is my greatest fear? Had you asked me this a year or two ago I would have listed a number of things.  But now I do not fear life and trust that all that is as it needs to be.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? Self-criticism.  It’s a pesky trait that sneaks in every now and then.  But I am trying to put it at ease and when it pops up affirm that I am perfect in my imperfections in each moment.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire? Phew!!!  It’s impossible to name them.  I admire ALL the artists out there who follow their dreams and passions, whether full time or part time.  Each brings a unique gift to the world and adds to the richness of life.  They are also very supportive of each other and inspire and uplift each other in so many ways!  It’s not easy putting your heart and soul out there and it’s not always a sure way of making a living – it takes a lot of courage.

What is my greatest extravagance? Crystals, books and decks!  Need I say more?

On what occasion would I lie? If telling the truth would cause unnecessary suffering or to keep a secret I’ve been entrusted with.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? I’m not so comfortable promoting myself and pricing in a way that covers the time and effort I put into my work is quite challenging for me.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work? I’m always happiest in my work.  I’ve learned to decline jobs that do not resonate with me on a soul level and only take on those which I feel guided to do.

If I could, what would I change about myself? My lack of confidence which I am working on 😉

What is my greatest achievement in work? To trust that when I’m creating, I am in communion with Source and that my creations bring healing, joy, comfort and love to others.

Where would I most like to live? I love the village where I live now and I love the energies of the African continent, but a stone cottage in a forest, on the slopes of a mountain, next to a lake would be perfect!!!

What is my most treasured possession? My creative gifts – to me they are the breath that feeds my soul.

What is my most marked characteristic? People often say I always have a smile on my face … so I would say it’s that.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city? My studio.  It is filled with my creations, crystals and other sacred tools and objects – and usually my three furry four legged companions, Roxy, Peppa and Gypsy.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? I don’t go out to eat much.  But I’d have to say when myself and a group of special soul friends get together and each brings along a plate of snacks.  Always a delicious feast!

What books influenced my life and how? I grew up reading SciFi and fantasy books and now a wide selection of uplifting, inspirational books on esoteric and spiritual topics influence me.  They open me to the mysteries, unknown and the unseen aspects of the Universe and myself.

Who are my favorite writers? Osho, Sandra Ingerman, Eckhart Tolle, Paulo Coelho, Edgar Cayce, Terry Pratchett, Tom Holt, JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling, Terry Brooks, Debi Gliori…. I could keep going on and on!

What music would I listen on my last day of this life? Sacred songs, songs of the soul by Peia, Sacred Earth, Ashana, Ajeet Kaur, Lisa Thiel and others.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Frodo Baggins…. someone who against all the odds and even when challenges seemed impossible to overcome, continues on their quest for the greater good of all.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? My mom and dad!  They adopted me at birth – and gave me every opportunity in life any child could wish for….and unconditional love!

Which movie would I recommend you see once in a lifetime? Cloud Atlas and Lord of the Rings.

What role does art play in my life and work? It is everything to me.  It is fuel for my heart, for my soul.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? So many people/friends/family support, encourage and inspire me, it wouldn’t be fair to name just one!  They are all stars in my life!

Whom would I like to work with in 2018? I am currently working on two big projects with two beautiful souls J

Which people in my profession would I love to meet in 2018? I’d love to meet young artists who are starting out and inspire and motivate them to follow their passion.  Especially those whose family and friends don’t think art is a good career choice.

What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? Apart from the two commissioned projects I am currently working on….I’m very excited about my personal project for 2018.  Which for the time being will be kept a secret.

Where can you see me or my work in 2018? My website, and my facebook page,  I do intend on putting myself out there a bit more on other sites this year.  And will announce any details on my facebook page. My three published oracle decks – Conscious Spirit Oracle Deck, Angel Inspiration Deck and Visions of the Soul Deck.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? When one finds one’s true passion, it is always with you in everything you do.  It’s a way of life not a job or something that gets turned on and off.  It becomes who you are.

Which creative heroines should Peter invite to tell their story? Kendra Fine Art, Tracy Connell Art, Shelly Adams(Medicine Journey), Gypsy Queen Jewellery, Sara Lilina::Rainbow Soul, My Art – Sue Hammans

Become a Friend of The Heroine’s Journey

We’re sometimes not too sure how we get into good friendships. It seems to happen rather mysteriously: we talk of somewhat randomly ‘clicking’ with people. Trying to plan for it sounds like cheating. But in a busy world, the desire to socialise authentically, with interesting, like-minded people, deserves to be addressed directly.

That’s why we created The Heroine’s Journey Friends scheme. Membership gives you the right to invite creative professionals to publish their story for free on The Heroine’sJourney online. Each story made possible by you is anchored around the big idea that when we our quest let’s us travel from a person who interests us to another person who interest them and exchange stories we learn more about ourselves, meet people who can make a difference for you and have more impact in the world with telling our story.  Every month, in your own city or somewhere in the world you can invite creative professionals you like to tell their story for the Heroine’s Journey website.

If you have passion for your work, you will find kindred spirits in this way of travelling.  The stories you will see of creative professionals you have invited for The Heroine’s Journey are guaranteed to be stimulating and reassuring – as well as prompts to genuine connection and insight. Every creative professional you bring forward to have their story free published on The Heroine’s Journey online, you will be offering a great experience to everyone you meet.
