What is the best thing that I love about my work? I am happy that I can create a new reality. To take forms and elements from the surrounding commonness and integrate into an infinite number of combinations, giving them a new meaning. Art gives us the opportunity to make visible the invisible, possible the impossible. To stop every moment, peer at it and admire it. Art is an emotion out of time.
What is my idea of perfect happiness? Probably absolute happiness is possible only under conditions of total acceptance of reality. Otherwise, we become travelers from the past to the future and back. Day after day, losing our “today”, at some point we look back at the panorama of past years and realize that we had not living at all, but had staying in a dream. Maybe even not in our dream.
What is my greatest fear? I will not be original, if I say that like any mother, I fear for my child more than anything in the world. And from childhood until the appearance of my daughter, I was horrified by an illustration from the cover of a Japanese fairy tale called “Issumbosi”)
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? Inability to choose. In the store, I can spend 2 hours thinking to take me a thing of blue or green, shoes of one size or another. In the end I take both, and a week later I return everything back. In a daily life, it brought me many problems. Freedom of choice – my hell in reality) And even when I decide on something, every step afterwards seems to me erroneous.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? I love the creativity of Kahori Maki. She is Japanese, do you imagine?) But I’m not afraid of her pictures) And it’s nj need to go far, to admire my friends, and I’m happy to watch how develops each of them.
What is my greatest extravagance? I think I’m such an ordinary person that it’s hard to suspect an artist in me) Probably the biggest oddity for a “brush worker” is to be “so so, normal”. I do not know, I can eat only salty bread and sweet tea for the whole day)
On what occasion would I lie? I will always lie if some truth about me causes pain to close people. My bad deeds will remain only with me.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Instability and uncertainty in the future. I can not know when a new picture will be sold. And some of them, i just can’t leave . And the longer they are with me, the harder it becomes to let them go
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? One day I was drawing the girl and then she cried at my work. I managed to get scared and upset, because I tried very hard. But she asked: “Is it really me? Do you really see me so beautiful? “And I want to say right away that I was not flattered, pure academicism. Not diplomas and awards, but this was the most triumphant moment in my profession. I realized that I am in my place. And this case is always with me at every moment of despair.
What would I change about myself, If I could? I would become a cheerful person with a loud voice)
What is my greatest achievement in work? I’m glad that I have my own style and I do not need to look for a direction in art, to which I could join
Where would I most like to live? In a house on a tree by the sea coast) Or in Venice. Or in St. Petersburg. Definitely among the water. But perhaps the house on the tree is the closest to reality)
What is my most treasured possession? Among the material things are my pictures. And school notebooks) From everything else I’m ready to refuse easily.
What is my most marked characteristic? Perhaps melancholy and empathy. But my relatives probably think something different. I would like to know)
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? Electric pole with wires in the form of a letter “A” on the next street). An unremarkable private sector with broken asphalt and rusty garages on the other side of the road. But this is my portal to my cosmos. If you knew how many questions were asked in the void and how many answers have never been received) But I want to believe that the stars that revolve above it are thoughts of hope. They feed on its electricity. And I know each of them in person) And when I start to forget who I am, I go back to him.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? This is the cafe “Mango” in Rostov-on-Don. But in fact, when I’m with friends, it’s enough for me to be at home or to have a picnic outdoor.
What books influenced my life and how? The book for ages is for me a children’s collection of poems “The Crucial Silence” of the Romanian poet Lucia Oltyanu. Probably she formed my world the way I see him now) I love Dostoevsky’s “White Nights”, Exupery’s “Citadel”, “Asya” Turgenev’s story, “Love in the Time of Plague” Garcia Marquez.
Who are my favorite writers? I love Russian poets of the Silver Age
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Well of course the music of my husband. This is the group “Quamboca”, name which, in African, means “to get out of the water.” On the day of my death, I will be listen to the music of our life) Among the lesser famous bands I Love Portishead, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, DDT)
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Scarlette O’Hara and Red Butler. Very uneasy people, very similar to the real ones) I was told several times that I was Tatiana Larina. But I would not want to be like she)
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh
Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime? “Flying Cranes” by Mikhail Kalatozov
What role plays art in my life and work? Art for me is life, my second breath.
Whom would I like to work with in 2018? I would like to create a team with several artists who are close to me in spirit. In order to arrange joint exhibitions
Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2018? Kahori Maki)
What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? I want to start preparing for my summer graphic arts exhibition as soon as possible
Where can you see me or my work in 2018?
July – Russian Art Week in Rome
August – Personal exhibition of graphics, Russia, Rostov-on-Don, hall of the Union of Artists
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? For Orthodox Christians, the meaning of life is to struggle with passions. Passion does not leave a rest in the soul. And it is an acquired property. And all that is not ours, we can separate from ourselves. You just need to see it in time and find out – yes, this is it, and it’’s a lie. But as for the passion in art – let it be. And if the soul burns with fire – let it be the fire of creativity.
Which creative heroines should Peter invite to tell their story? Anastasia Gavrilova, Katerina Semenko, Yulia Borovaya, Olesya Dubovik, Anna Selina, Nadezhda Popova, Elena Korobitsyna

Become a Friend of The Heroine’s Journey
We’re sometimes not too sure how we get into good friendships. It seems to happen rather mysteriously: we talk of somewhat randomly ‘clicking’ with people. Trying to plan for it sounds like cheating. But in a busy world, the desire to socialise authentically, with interesting, like-minded people, deserves to be addressed directly.
That’s why we created The Heroine’s Journey Friends scheme. Membership gives you the right to invite creative professionals to publish their story for free on The Heroine’sJourney online. Each story made possible by you is anchored around the big idea that when we our quest let’s us travel from a person who interests us to another person who interest them and exchange stories we learn more about ourselves, meet people who can make a difference for you and have more impact in the world with telling our story.
