The Heroine’s Journey of Mirella Bucholz

What is the best thing I love about my work?

First it is the responsibility I have accepted. This responsiblity helps me to do things which nobody forces me to do.

Then it is the wish to create something that emotionally moves other people, gives them courage and hope, conveys comfort or is thought-provoking.

There are the wonderful encounterings with people, their stories, which let their eyes gleam with pleasure.

Furthermore it is the passion you cannot learn or study anywhere. Passion simply exists and cannot be ignored. Whispering in my ear it says, “Accept this present and follow your instinct.

My work stimulates me, lets me grow and motivates me to try out new ways.

Even a journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step and it usually starts in my innermost soul.

Working on pictures I have learned a lot about myself and feel gratitude for this.

Happiness is no permanent condition of life; yet I feel happy when experiencing such moments.

Happiness is an inner feeling of satisfaction and well-being, of accepting one’s condition, a feeling that makes itself felt to others.

Happiness for me means working as a creative person.

When and where was I happiest in my work?

This is always the act of creating, the process, being meditatively absorbed, which makes me happy. You have the time to explore your innermost feelings and ideas and are forced to face to your present state of mind.

Yet there can be obstacles. Sometimes I have to fight with the canvas from the first to the last brushstroke. But every time when I have finished my work and look at the picture I am happy, not the less so because I have not given up.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

It is my mental devlopment.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

All the people who do their daily work with love and passion.

What role plays art in my life and work?

Art teaches me to live happily. It shows me that there is not only one way to reach an aim, but many different and individual ones.

Art shows me many creative solutions that I can realize in my life.

I would like to work with new art galleries.
