What is the best thing that I love about my work? I love people and their complexity. So, in my work as a coach, aura reader and storyteller, I love to discover the emotional mechanisms that are responsible for our actions and reactions. With that knowledge, I’m able to help my clients achieve their goals and to accept their life story. I love to see their eyes shining after that.
What is my idea of perfect happiness? A big dinner table with good friends and family, interesting conversation and lots of laughter. Or just seated by a fireplace with a good glass of Portuguese wine and an excellent book. Always; True love and true friendship
What is my greatest fear? My greatest fear is to lose those I love the most. Second, to lose my mobility and autonomy.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? I tend do be very impatient. When I want something to happen, I desire for it to happen instantly. That’s something that I’m currently working to improve. Time is precious, indeed. But it’s important that we learn how to wait for the best moment, in order to make things happen with optimal results.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? I really admire James Mcsill. I find him to be a perfect storyteller. I also admire Jorge Bucay, for the same reason. Tony Robbins as he is a perfect leader and Elisabeth Gilbert, for her creativity and sense of humour.
What is my greatest extravagance? I can be very crazy if I find objects and furniture that I find real amazing in my home. I love decoration. And I also adore to travel and accommodate myself in good and charming hotels.
On what occasion would I lie? I lie if that means avoiding someone to lose his hope. But most of time, I prefer telling the true. With kindness and respect, we may say almost everything to anyone.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? I love to do what I do most of time. But I really dislike when having to deal with technology.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? I remember a very special moment to me when I was guiding a type of meditation in a prison for young people. I wanted to teach them how to dream, despite of the circumstances. It was a magic moment when I saw their faces changing expressions and smiling. One of them told me that, during that time, he forgot that he was in prison. It was a very special moment for all of us involved.
If I could, what would I change about myself? I would like to be a little less anxious. But I tend to deal with that recurring to my sense of humour. That`s my secret.
What is my greatest achievement in work? Every time I’m able to help someone being more confident and happier, its always an achievement for me. And I also remember that one special achievement, when I wrote my first book as a result of a promise made to a client of mine, before she passed away. She changed the way I worked and that book is the result of that.
Where would I most like to live? I like to live in the center of Lisbon, surrounded by stories and people.
What is my most treasured possession? My family, my best friends and my female cat, Violeta.
What is my most marked characteristic? Kindness, creativity and sense of humour.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? Jardim da Estrela, near Campo de Ourique, when I need to center myself. Also, walking in the streets of my city, always the best way for me to find answers and solutions for something that occupies my mind.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? I love “Os Tibetanos”, a very good vegetarian food restaurant.
What books influenced my life and how? “The Alchemist” and “Brida”, both from Paulo Coelho. They gave me a great sense of meaning and they were the beginning of a great journey to where I am right now. History of the seagull and the cat that teached her how to fly” from Luis Sepulveda. It’s a real inspiring story, very metaphorical and full of sensitivity. Also “The great magic” from Elisabeth Gilbert, for its sense of humour and lessons very important to the development creativity. And. all books from Jorge Bucay.
Who are my favorite writers? Jorge Bucay, Paulo Coelho, Elena Ferrante, Isabel Allende, Oscar Wilde. I also like old Portuguese writers as Fernando Pessoa, Eça de Queiroz. And from the younger generation, names like José Luis Peixoto and Afonso Cruz.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? “Perfect day”, from Lou Reed/Velvet Underground.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? I love Harry Potter as he is preparing himself during years to face his greatest fear: Lord Voldemort. Only when he is prepared, he is able to confront him directly and win the battle of his life. That’s an amazing metaphor for life.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Nelson Mandela for his grandiosity and capacity of forgiveness. Angelina Jolie, she is a strong and courageous woman. And those millions of refugees that can escape and rebuilt their lives, under a lot of pain and lost. They are amazing and an example for all of us.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? “Il postino” of Michael Radford. Very poetic and beautiful.
What role plays art in my life and work? A very very important role. I use drama in my coaching sessions, I work also with storytelling. I write an article on a Portuguese online magazine called “Sábado”. In my personal life, I love theatre, listen music, art exhibitions. I don’t live without creativity in my life.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? I have good friends that support me a lot. Also my wonderful clients. And my excellent partner in a new project which is about to start.
Whom would I like to work with in 2018? I will work in a new project with a new partner, Sara Amado. I m very excited about it. Will see what’s coming next.
Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2018? Jorge Bucay, as he is an amazing storyteller. I love to meet him. But 2018 will be a year to consolidate my projects. That’s will be my focus. Maybe next year I will able to arrange for that encounter to happen.
What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? I am about to start a project of life storytelling in schools with my partner Sara Amado. I have other projects, but are secret for now.
