What is the best thing that I love about my work? I love my painting process, it takes me to a calm and joyful place, no worries live in that space.
What is my idea of perfect happiness? Having an assistant to do all the things in my life that take me away from painting.
What is my greatest fear? I have many fears if I let myself entertain them, but I do my best not to make tea and sit with them.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? pettiness, on occasion I can be petty, I recognize it and then laugh at myself.
Which living persons in my profession do I most admire? Kiki Smith, Lawrence Carroll, Mark Bradford and Leonardo Drew, all artists that I greatly respect.
What is my greatest extravagance? I live a very simple life, but my fur kids, Peet’s coffee and books are worth every penny.
On what occasion would I lie? To keep someone safe or to save someone from hurt feelings.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? The business side of being an artist is my least favorite bit.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? NOW!
If I could, what would I change about myself? Nothing.
What is my greatest achievement in work? To make the best paintings I can make.
Where would I most like to live? I have dreams of living by the sea or in Paris France.
What is my most treasured possession? My fur kids and an alabaster Buddha.
What is my most marked characteristic? My passion for art, making it, looking at it, reading about it and talking about it.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? All my hiking spots (Taos has many), they all inspire me.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? The Love Apple, the best food in town.
What books influenced my life and how? Too many to name, but Catcher in the Rye, and The Razor’s Edge shaped me into an authentic human being.
Who are my favorite writers? Paul Auster and David Foster Wallace.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Anything by Bach.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Atticus Finch (To Kill a mockingbird) and Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice).
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Patti Smith, a true artist and authentic human being. And David Lynch for the same reasons.
Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime? Wings of Desire, best movie ever made.

What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? All my paintings are projects, they take up to 6 months to make.
