What is the best thing that I love about my work?

The best thing I love about my work is to meet artists, get to know their practice, research interests and then when finding a physical space, imagine an exhibition of their artistic work there.

What is my idea of perfect happiness?

Getting paid for doing what I love, living and sharing happily with my family and having freedom to always decide what comes next.

What is my greatest fear?

Perhaps, losing the ability to feel and experience life + art.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

Sometimes the need to speed up processes and get everything done as fast as posible.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?

Rainer Fuchs, head curator of MUMOK and Thomas Mießgang for his work as curator as Kunsthalle Wien

What is my greatest extravagance?

Parties haha

On what occasion would I lie?

I am a rather straight forward person; I would rather assume the responsibility of saying the truth than lying.   

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

Unexpected changes.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

2014, Bogota, Colombia, when opened one of the exhibitions I curated at the gallery where I worked, both artists and public experienced the exhibition completely, with interesting discussions about the exhibited works afterwards. That is very satisfying.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

Being slow when it comes to jokes, usually get them later than everyone else haha

What is my greatest achievement in work?

Having curated an exhibition abroad

In Europe

My dog J

Energetic

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

Bridges, any, I always like to look the city from above

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?

To eat, WAFU, it’s a Japanesse restaurant. And drink, BBC it’s the local beer brewery in Bogota.

What books influenced my life and how?

Crime and Punishment by Fedor Dostoievski influenced me on understanding the power of mind. And The Perfume by Patrick Süskind on understanding the power of love.

Who are my favorite writers?

Friedrich Nietzsche, Franz Kafka and Ernesto Sabato

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?

Deep House, or maybe Drum n Bass, would depend on the mood

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

Iron Man

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

Well, first of all my parents are both heroes J my closest friends, and the group of artists I work with, Faenza Estudios.

The Fifth Element

An important one. My life makes sense because of Art.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

Fan: I don’t know haha. Sponsor: my dad. Partner in crime: Joni.

Whom would I like to work with in 2018?

I would like to work with a couple curators in Vienna for 2018 to bring up there ‘Ruteros’, an exhibition that is currently being displayed in Prague.

On setting up the exhibition ‘Ruteros’ in Vienna and Moscow.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?

When passion is the main driver to do what you do, it means you’re permanently working, no matter what you’re up to, and that means you will never need retirement from what you do with passion.
