What is the best thing that I love about my work?
So much: thinking, clothes, giving, mentoring, campaigning, seeing change happen, playing with ideas, with fabrics, shapes and things to come.
What is my idea of perfect happiness?
My family and our favourite friends around a table eating great food and then silly dancing to Grease and Grease 2.
What is my greatest fear?
Illness, doctors, hospitals.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
I panic way too easily.

Kate Fletcher, Anna Orsini, Celine Seaman, Christina Dean, Leslie Johnston.
What is my greatest extravagance?
Food. Wine. Felt-tips and lipsticks.
On what occasion would I lie?
To protect someone’s feelings and to make children laugh.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
Spreadsheets. And breakfast meetings.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
I’m at my happiest designing, inventing, starting and seeing things through. The success of Fashion Revolution over the past 5 years is where I have been at my happiest so far, career wise.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
What is my greatest achievement in work?
My tenacity, upcycling techniques and Fashion Revolution.
Where would I most like to live?
All over the place.
What is my most treasured possession?
My clothes, my cushions and my jewellery.
What is my most marked characteristic?
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
Museums, art galleries and the PeckhamPlex.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?
It’s closed. It used to be Le Cafe Anglais. I haven’t replaced it, yet.
So now I go to the Brixton market instead, its full of nice places to eat.
What books influenced my life and how?
So many, in so many different ways. I read a lot, and too many books influence, and affect me, to be able to single out a few.
Who are my favorite writers?
EL Doctorow, JD Salinger, Anna Ackhmatova, Rose Tremain, Philip Meyers, Hilary Mantel, Niccolò Ammaniti, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Balzac, Simon Sebag Montefiore, Natalia Ginzburg, Maria Belllonci, Simon Schama … but I could go on and on and my tastes and preferences expand constantly as I discover new ones.

The soundtrack from Grease. And La Traviata.
