What’s the best thing I love about my job?

Going to sleep at night knowing that when I wake up I can do what I like to do, draw, paint, observe.

What is my idea of perfect happiness?

It’s that bubble that envelops you when something, even small, goes as you hoped it would go.

Depend on others.

Which people in my profession do I admire the most?

I am enchanted by people who are curious, intellectually honest and generous.

What is my biggest extravagance?

I could not say.

On what occasion should I lie?

I could omit to say something if it caused unnecessary suffering.

What is the thing I do not like most in my work?

Economic insecurity and the fact that, at times, it is not perceived as a job.

When and where have I been the happiest in my job?

When I’m about to start a new project.

If I could, what would I change about myself ?

Perhaps I would like to be less shy and be able to talk about my work publicly in complete tranquility, but it is also a part of me that I have learned to love and that belongs to me.

What is my biggest achievement at work ?

When people recognize my style even when I use different techniques and shapes.

Where would I like to live more?

Right now I’m very well where I am.

What is my most precious treasure?

The curiosity.

What is my most marked feature?

Patience and determination.

What is my most inspiring position in my city?

The local markets, full of people, colors and perfumes.

What is my favorite place to eat and drink in my city?
By the sea.

Which books have influenced my life and how?
I like books that tell stories of childhood, ordinary people, artists’ biographies, I need them to keep my feet on the ground.

Who are my favorite writers?
Many, I love reading: Philip Roth, Fred Vargas, Nick Horby, Jose Saramago, Elsa Morante, Davide Longo, Wislawa Ezymborska, Marcello Fois, Giuseppe Pontremoli, Sandra Petrignani, Natalia Ginzburg and many others.

You only die once. What music would I like to listen to on my last day?
The voices, the laughter of my affections with Boom Boom by Lee Hooker

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
Rosetta is the protagonist of the film of the same name by the Dardenne brothers.

Who are my heroes and my heroines in real life?
All women and men who despite having a scarce economic availability lead a dignified life, serene and even cheerful. For me they are the real heroines and the real heroes.

The universal judgment of Vittorio De Sica.

I do not know how to live without.
