The Heroine’s Journey of Engelia Tahinasoa

What’s the best thing I love about my job? When I was a child, I want to become a painter and jewel stylist and manage my own company. It’s not easy to realize our dream because there is many challenge but I always kept in my mind this proverb: “In the brave heart, nothing is impossible”. So, my work makes me a strong and happy woman. Further, I can forget my trouble when I draw, paint and create a new jewel.
What is my idea of perfect happiness? My idea of perfect happiness is the success after failure.
What is my biggest fear? I think that fear is not in my lexicon.
Which people in my profession do I admire the most? I admire Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Léonard de Vinci, Michelangelo. And I’m attracted and enchanted by honest, generous, curious and creative people.
What is my biggest extravagance? I do more investment in training and research.
On what occasion would I lie? For me, l don’t like to lie, but if the truth is going to hurt somebody I will obliged to lie. “All truths are not to be told”
What is the thing I do not like most in my work? I spend a lot of time when I’m going to create a new model of Art especially jewel Art; but when I look at the result of my work, I realize that I’m not satisfied and after I try to make it perfect.
When and where have I been the happiest in my job? I’m creative and I really like to widen my spirit especially when I have a good idea for my new project in my small very quiet workshop.
If I could, what would I change about myself? I think that I don’t really trust in myself but it always helps me to progress in my work and in all that I make.
What is my biggest achievement at work? My biggest achievement at work is when my Art is recognized all over the world and I will be the pride of my country. And I will be very happy to know that everybody adores what I’m doing and knows the messages and significations which I want to spread by my Art.
Where would I like to live more? Now, I live in a beautiful and amazing Island. It’s called Madagascar. So, it’s an ideal place to exercise Art.
What is my most precious treasure? My treasure possession is the creativity with my working materials and equipments.
What is my most marked feature? My most marked feature is perseverance and determination.
What is my most inspiring position in my city? The Incredible Fauna and Flora, Beaches with fine sands and beautiful colors and perfumes.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink in my city? In a wonderful and serene restaurant in front of the sea.
What books influenced my life and how? THE RICHEST MAN IN BABYLON by George S.Clason, THE 9 STEPS TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM by Suze Orman influenced my life because these books open my eyes to something new that applying techniques and success strategies are the best ways to discover and stay focused on our life’s journey. Also, I love reading detective story books, book of poetry and books that relate stories about childhood because they help me to discover the character and beauty of the world.
Who are my favorite writers? My favorite writers are: Caroline Webb, George S.Clason, Suze Orman, Andy Andrews, Vishen Lakhiani, Jean Verdi Salomon (Dox), George Randriamanantena, Simeon Rajaona, Shakespeare, Robert Lawrence Stine, Stephen King, Dan Brown, Olivier Weber, Fred Vargas.
You only die once. What music would I like to listen to on my last day? Power of your love, Holy is the lamb, Holy Spirit I Thirst for You, Draw me Close by Oslo Gospel Choir.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? I like Gal Gadot in Wonder woman who is the Ambassador of peace and a symbol of empowerment.
Who are my heroes and my heroines in real life? In real life, my heroes and my heroines are all honest and kind man and women, who fight for their country, for saving freedom. But there are also fathers and mothers who endorse the big responsibility of taking care of each one of their family members.
Which film would I recommend to see once in a lifetime? Tomb Raider, Wonder woman, Alexandre Le Grand, Me before you, Walk to remember, Flora
et les siens, Nos étoiles contraires.
What role does art play in my life and in my work? “Art is my life and my life is Art”. It will be something that will never leave me.
Who is my biggest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My family, my friends and especially myself. My family are always around when I need them And my friends encourage and support me.
Who would I like to work with in 2019? Working with the best painters, stylists and writers of the world. Also, working with international organization and international chains as BBC World, CCTV, MBC Networks, TV5 Monde. I would like to work with famous international museums as Museum of Quai Branly Jacques Chirac.
Which people in my profession would I like to meet in 2019? Damien Hirst, Marcello Barenghi, Akiane Kramarik, Richard Prince, Emanuele Dascanio, Paul Cadden, Kate young, Samantha McMillen, Law Roach, Thomas Carter Phillips, Jason Bolden, Elisabeth Stewart.
What project, in 2019, am I looking forward to work on? I would like to participate in international exposition all over the world and work with the best painters and stylists of the world. Also, meet international journalists in various countries to make known my works and my country.
