What is the best thing that I love about my work?

Connecting with likeminded people from all over the world. Exchanging ideas, thoughts, dreams. All these experiences ignite my creativity for new projects. The network I have been nurturing in the last two decades is a mix of special souls: artists, authors, scientists, curators, collectors, investors willing to share a vision.

What is my idea of perfect happiness?

Is the privilege of creating something beautiful, positive, unique and sharing it with the largest possible Community.

What is my greatest fear?

That this world, this society we live in, one day will turn into one of those horrible dystopic scenarios of some sci-fi series, where children are brainwashed, women lose their rights and men are turned into weapons.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

I have a passionate spirit that often reveals my most inner feelings. I should definitely learn to be more diplomatic.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?

Many…Marc Spiegler, Global Director of Art Basel, Victoria Miro, founder of Victoria Miro Galleries, Fulvio Granocchia and Cristian Contini from Contini Contemporary.

What is my greatest extravagance?

Art, rare books, high-tech in general.

On what occasion would I lie?

Anytime it helps telling a better story..!

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

Lack of funding to produce new projects, self-censorship in artists, narrow-minded or lazy people in general.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

In London with business partner Chiara Canal when we opened Le Dame Art Gallery and again few months later when I founded the Artrooms Fairs, together with Chiara and Francesco Fanelli. Here is a short video of the fair https://youtu.be/JuwGyY3bEVg

If I could, what would I change about myself?

To be honest I don’t know exactly… but I guess we all change and adapt to new challenges every day.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

Both Le Dame Art Gallery and the Artrooms Fairs. In 5 year time, the companies are flourishing. We have recently open a new gallery space in Rome and regarding the fairs, we now have 3 editions: London, Rome and Seoul. We keep receiving more and more interest every day by investors and potential partners, and are becoming the place to scout talented artists globally.

Where would I most like to live?

On an airplane! For now, I love living between London and Rome but I would gladly spend few months in New York or Hong Kong too.

What is my most treasured possession?

Family.

What is my most marked characteristic?

I am driven by curiosity and determination. Both essential to succeed in the Art Industry.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

Hotels are wonderful places where one can meet the most variety of humanity. An hotel is like a small village with a special twist: people come and go and they usually have an “it’s-holiday-time” attitude.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?

When in Rome, I often go by the sea in Fiumicino for a special “calamari e gamberi” (fried squid and shrimps) in London, I love Taro – Japanese food – in Soho.

What books influenced my life and how?

The Allegory of the Cave by Plato (from the book La Repubblica), One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austin, Perfume by Patrick Suskind, The Notebook by Agotha Kristoff, Q by Luther Blisset, anything written by Oscar Wilde or by Shakespeare and the autobiography of my ancestor artist Benvenuto Cellini (!) just to name a few.

Who are my favorite writers?

A part from the ones named before, I would add Elena Ferrante, Umberto Eco, Herman Hesse, Pablo Neruda.

Claire de Lune by Claude Debussy

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

All Marvel’s super heroes and Wonder Woman!

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

All people able to raise their voices and act for the greater good.

Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime?

Star Wars by Lucas…may the force be with you!

What role plays art in my life and work?

My motto is “Art is Evolution”. I believe art is a powerful tool for an individual to learn, discover, grow and to express yourself.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

My partners, investors and my team: Ines Alberty, Sandra Sanson, Cristina Benito and Veronica Fantini, they are all heroines!

Whom would I like to work with in 2019?

We are now selecting artists for the Artrooms Fair London and I trust I will meet very talented artists and curators.

Ai Wei Wei, Yayoi Kusama, Christo, Hans Ulrich Obrist

What project, in 2019, am I looking forward to work on?

We are now launching Artrooms Fair Seoul. It will take place in October, at the moment all our efforts are focussed on this new exciting challenge.

Le Dame Art Gallery, which also serves as the HQ for the Artrooms Fairs, is based in London at the Meliá White House, Albany Street NW1 3UP.
