What is the best thing that I love about my work?
I like the research, figuring out how to refine a project. The research phase (brainstorming, sketching) is the most important in design. It needs to be prolific.
What is my idea of perfect happiness?
To me pure happiness is to wake up every day for the rest of my life telling myself that i love what I do, and that I’m proud of the person I have become. I heartily hope to always make a living doing something i’m passionate about and if one day that changes, i would have to go back and reinvent myself.
What is my greatest fear?
Boredom! It frightens me to watch the day waste away minute by minute.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
When I was younger I used to take criticism very badly. It is common with designers because we all put some part of us into every project for everyone to see. Over sensibility can become a problem, you have to learn to take a step away from your projects and see them in the grand scheme, not live inside them. Today with all the experiences I’ve had, I can honestly say it’s getting easier and its better that way.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?
I love David Carson’s work, for me he is one of the greatest graphic designers in the world. I like what he does because his work is really plastic for a graphiste(lol). I like that his work is recognisable and it really stands out. Then again I have always been more inspired by mouvements rather then the personalities involved; Bauhaus or the Swiss school come to mind as some I really admire.
What is my greatest extravagance?
My plants, I’ve always loved the idea of taking care of something and seeing it grow. My appartment is full of plants big and small.
On what occasion would I lie?
Frankly I hate dishonesty. Maybe I could lie if I really had to for work but I dont know really, I feel like I’m too honest at times. If I have something to say I prefer to say it.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
Sometimes I feel like our work is to stale and that we should take more risks. I would like to work the way you play poker, sometimes you have to have faith and go all in! If you win the reward will be greater.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
Now! here! I love my team! I love working with them because they are really talented and I learn a lot from them. I like co-creating/workshopping. We throw out our ideas, we dont hold back and the outcome is very enriching.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
If I could I would want to have even more believe in myself and my abilities.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
I had the chance to be in charge of a huge project when I first started working for orange bank, the creation of their Premium Credit Card. It was one of the greatest moments in my professional life.

Singapour, that town fascinates me, it has become one of the most influential places in the world. Their organic architecture is like something out of science fiction. There is this “metallic jungle” aspect to it which is inspiring.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
Trinity from Matrix. I love that film, i’ve seen it a million times! If I had to identify with anyone it would be her. She’s a geek like me lol. She’s also strong and she accepts the hardships in her life. She does what she does for the greater good and I respect that.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
Being french I’d say Simone Veil. She’s a real heroine. Thanks to her we are free in our bodies. She’s the ultimate french feminist icon.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?
Jean Luc-Goddard’s Pierro Le Fou without a doubt. For me it is the symbol of courage. The title character lives a boring live and he can’t take it anymore so he runs away with an old friend of his and they become outlaws. The lines from that film are absolute gold.
What role plays art in my life and work?
It is central to both my life and work, art history and art is obviously important for a designer. Even if I mostly work on a numeric basis I always refer to the great artistic movements like bauhaus/l’art nouveau or even painters like Rothko. Recently I went to an Alfonse de Mucha Exposition, it was magnificent.

At the moment we are rebuilding our mobile application and I’ve started working on that. It’s quite interesting because we have to change the whole design of the app. Its a lot of work but the result will be really cool so its inspiring. We’re working with the developers hand in hand, I like working that way.

What ever happens to you in your life you always have to keep following your dreams and make that your first priority. Never forget what your passionate about not even for more money or comfort or status. To often we accept things that we shouldn’t. We aren’t obliged to do anything we don’t want to, its integral in life to stay true to yourself and your passion.
